Alexander Gennadievich was born in Sverdlovsk on September 24, 1973. In 1996, he graduated from the Ural Academy of Civil Service with major “State and Municipal Administration”. In 1999, he finished his post-graduate course in the Presidential Academy of Civil Service in Moscow. Since 1999, he has been a Candidate of Economic Science.
Alexander Gennadievich started his career at the Scientific and Production Association of Automation. In December 2000, he was appointed Head of Competitive Advantages and Investment Potential Department of the Committee for Economy and in several months he became the Committee Deputy Chair. In May 2002, he was appointed Chair of the Committee.
Alexander Gennadievich has written a lot of research papers and articles. He is one of the developers and coordinators of the Ekaterinburg Strategic Development Plan for the period until 2025.
Alexander Gennadievich is married and has two sons. He is engaged with sports - hockey in particular.
On June 2, 2008 he took office in the position of the Deputy Mayor of Ekaterinburg and later became the Deputy Head of the Ekaterinburg City Administration.
In February 2016, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government by the order of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor. At this position, Alexander Gennadievich supervised the implementation of the Big Ekaterinburg project, introduction of Strategy-2030 in municipalities and work with the regional territories.
On September 25, 2018, he has been appointed Mayor of Ekaterinburg.
