Dr. Salenikovich teaches design of timber structures, mechanical properties of wood, and test methods. His research interests are focused on high-wind and seismic design of multi-storey timber buildings, timber connections including structural screws and glued-in rods, and development of testing procedures. Together with his students and collaborators he authored over 120 journal articles and conference papers; he edited the Proceedings of the World Conference on Timber Engineering 2014.
Professor Salenikovich is the Chairman of the ASTM International committee D7 on Wood Construction, Chair of the Canadian Mirror Committee of ISO/TC 218 on Timber and member of the CMC/ISO/TC 165 on Timber Structures, Chair of the Subcommittee on Connections and executive member of CSA A257 TC on Engineering Design in Wood and member of CSA A370 TC on Solid and Engineered Wood Products, executive member of ANSI/APA PRG 320 standard committee on CLT and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
