Igor L. Shubin was born in Moscow in 1958. In 1980 he graduated with honors from the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute named after V.V. Kuibyshev, faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering with a degree in civil engineering.
His career is related to NIISF RAASN where he started as post-graduate student and became a director of the Institute in 2009. He is a leading academic expert in the field of structural physics, ecology in construction and energy saving. Professor, Doctor of Engineering Research fields: construction acoustics, energy saving, design of buildings and structures. In 2003 he was awarded the Prize of the Russian Government and the title of "Honored Builder of Russia." He took an active part in the design and construction of Moscow City buildings, as well as other unique objects in St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, and others
