In 1999 - 2010 he was employed by a company doing business in the construction sector, and worked in the authorities of the Government of St. Petersburg. Since 2010 he is the Director for Business Development at JSC KB ViPS. Mr. Agafonov is a Member of the working group of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, Member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Construction of Russia on the introduction of information modeling technologies in the industrial and civil construction in Russia. Since 2017 he is the Chairman of the Expert Council on BIM-technologies of NP "Russian Guild of Managers and Developers" (RGUD). He actively participates in the development of information modeling technologies in cooperation with the executive bodies of government authorities and leading construction industry companies.
