Seventy Sessions in Three Days
A regular meeting of the Organizing Committee of the III International Forum of High-rise and Unique Construction 100+ Forum Russia has approved the business program of the event. The number of those who wished to speak at the forum this year was higher than before, that is why the organizers decided to increase the quantity of business sessions. The program includes 70 themed sessions covering the most topical and important themes and presentations in the field of construction.
Arkady Chernetsky, the First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council Committee for Federative Organization, Regional Policy, Local Self-Governance and Affairs of the North, Deputy Chairman of 100+ Forum Russia Organizing Committee: “The Forum, which has already become a tradition, is awaited by specialists from high-rise and unique construction industry whereas the documents and initiatives, which are born here, unfailingly attract attention both of city administrations and professionals".
This year, the program of 100+ Forum Russia has been notably extended in several aspects. These are bridge engineering, long span structures, underground construction, composite materials and urban planning. The presentation of specific design and simulation modelling of complex accidental exposures on the structures of bridge crossing over the Kerch Strait will undoubtedly cause the interest of professionals. A separate session will be devoted to the topic of building and renovation of Russian stadiums where the FIFA World Cup 2018 games will take place.
The Union of Architects of Russia will have a round table meeting “A residential sky-scraper. Living high” with a discussion of social, architectural and technical aspects of building residential high-risers. The Russian Tunnelling Association, taking part in the Forum for the first time, will become an organizer of professional discussions in the development of underground spaces and rational use of urban territories. They will also discuss an issue of construction of the second metropolitan railway line in Ekaterinburg. A.Chernetsky has emphasized a special importance of these themes and necessity of their complex presentation - from economic and city planning as well as from administrative points of view.
Apart from a plenary meeting, traditional sessions, round tables and professional master classes, on one of the Forum days, the experts will announce the results of the competition for the best development concept of Ekaterinburg-City quarter with the prize fund of 1 million rubles. The entries will be evaluated by invited world renowned architects Helmut Jahn and Werner Sobeck.
Sergey Shvindt, Deputy Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Government: “The Forum has become one of the most significant events in Ekaterinburg, it takes an important place in the city events calender. We are looking for new ideas, proposals in the field of construction and are prepared to consider best foreign practices”. S.Shvindt also added that it has been decided to have the forum in Ekaterinburg every year.
Alexey Belyshev, Deputy Head of Ekaterinburg City Administration on the issues of capital construction and land use: “Preparation to the third forum has been very productive. We are certainly happy to extend its geography and - what is more important - to have deeper researches to be presented by those institutes who take part in the development of norms and setting the levels of expertise”.
The organizers have underlined that participation of the world leading architects and builders brings the forum on a higher professional level. Thus, for example, the largest companies like Kurganstalmost, Shuko, Knight Frank, as well as Zaha Hadid Architects and Renzo Piano Building Workshop will take part in the forum for the first time.
According to Vera Belous, executive director of Guild of Ural Builders and executive secretary of the Organizing Committee of 100+ Forum Russia, already now, two months before the Forum, its program is formed by 90 per cent and delegations from 14 Russian cities, as well as from Italy and China have confirmed their participation. Speakers from USA, France, Great Britain, Malaysia and other countries will make their presentations.
