Organizing Committee of 100+ Forum Russia Reports on the Progress of Preparing for the Fifth Forum of High-Rise and Unique Construction

Ekaterinburg hosted a regular session of the 100+ Forum Russia Organizing Committee. It was held by Arkady Chernetsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council Committee for Federative Organization, Regional Policy, Local Self-Governance and Affairs of the North, Deputy Chairman of 100+ Forum Russia Organizing Committee. He highly appreciated the dynamics of Forum development over the previous four years, noting that the number of participants has increased by six times over the time, the number of speakers, by three times, while the number of business events doubled.

Alexander Yakob, Head of Municipal Administration of Ekaterinburg, participated in the work of the Organizing Committee. He reported how the city was preparing to receive Forum’s participants and guests. This year, four hotels partnered with 100+ Forum Russia - Hilton, Angelo, Novotel, and Park Inn Ekaterinburg. They will provide discounted accommodation to participants.

Mikhail Volkov, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Development of the Sverdlovsk Region, talked about preparing the exhibition part: “One of the main tasks of the exhibition is visually complementing the forum part, providing a practical illustration of things discussed at the forum sessions. We will intentionally invite companies applying innovative technologies, materials and construction methods.” This year, two more dimensions were added: digital and virtual technologies in construction and architectural lighting. The plan is to increase the number of exhibitors by 50%. The exhibition will feature a stand of the Sverdlovsk Region, a stand of 100+ Forum Russia and a display of the competition of the XIV International Contest of Architecture and Design, EURASIAN PRIZE 2018: it will exhibit works by “Master’s Hand” contest participants.

40 business and academic events are scheduled within the main business program of 100+ Forum Russia. Among these, over a half (22 sessions) are aimed at industry experts and devoted to scientific and technical research and development in construction. Sessions on technical regulation, architecture and city planning, urbanism and beautification are also planned.

This year’s business program is going to feature, for the first time, the topics of renovating urban territories in dense development conditions, preserving the cultural heritage within redevelopment territories, building transportation facilities of regional and federal significance (Ekaterinburg - Chelyabinsk high-speed line, Ekaterinburg - Verkhnyaya Pyshma high-speed tram). A significant portion of time is going to be devoted to issues of applying automated technical systems and technologies of information modelling in construction, development of digital prototyping based on Information Modelling of buildings and structures, technologies of computer modelling, and augmented and virtual reality in design and construction.
