The Geo-Research Institute organizes the GeoData System geoinformation system, studies wells and analyzes the geotechnical and geological structure of the Osaka territory and surrounding areas (more than 60,000 wells). He also organizes the Seismic Net Work, which in 1994 installed a real-time seismic station before the 1995 Kobe earthquake. He is also engaged in numerical modeling of the movement of the Earth's surface along a fault for nuclear power plants.
