Gerrit-Jan has worked his way up from an energy technology specialist to a general construction consultant who is passionate about improving sustainability, health and well-being in the design, construction and operation of buildings and neighborhoods.

Jerrit-Jan uses technologies leading to structural improvements in "healthy" sustainable buildings. His enthusiasm led to him becoming the first accredited professional with LEED & WEL and Living Future certifications in the Netherlands. He was recognized as the best "advocate" of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2016 (2016 USGBC's Astounding Advocate). Gerrit-Jan believes that the system does not require any rating, but it can be very useful for creating a sustainable and healthy construction environment.
