Background
Professor Talal Awwad began his academic career in 1992 at the University of Damascus, Syria. During this time, he held various positions, including Head of the Department of Soil Mechanics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Head of the Department of Seismic Geotechnics. He also worked at universities in other countries, where he held academic positions such as Advisor to the Rector for Science and member of the Academic Council of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, and was also a professor at several universities.
Talal Awwad combined academic and consulting activities and held the following positions: CEO of the International Consulting Engineering Company (ICEC), Damascus; CEO of GeoFundament Consulting Engineers (GFCE), Damascus; Member of the Board of Directors of the National Earthquake Research Center (NEC) in Damascus, Syria; Deputy CEO of Georeconstruction Group, St. Petersburg, Russia.
Dr. Awwad is fluent in English, Arabic and Russian.
