Background

He started his career in September 1997 as a design engineer at JSC Izhstal. From August 9, 1999 to February 2, 2005, he worked as the head of the Vocational Training Department of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Kamensk-Uralsky Energy Networks, from February 2 to November 30, 2005 ― Director of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorsvet of the municipality of Kamensk-Uralsky. From December 1, 2005 to November 17, 2006, he worked as the head of the Kamensk-Uralsky RKES branch of Vostokenergo, Komenergo CJSC. On November 20, 2006, he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Kamensk-Uralsky City Administration for Urban Development. Alexey Viktorovich worked in this position until July 19, 2013. From July 29, 2013 to February 14, 2014 ― Sales Director of JSC Sverdlovenergosbyt. From February 17, 2014 to March 16, 2016 ― First Deputy Minister of Energy and Housing of the Sverdlovsk Region. On March 11, 2016, following a competition to select candidates for the position of head of the administration of the Kamensk-Uralsky Municipal District, Alexey Viktorovich Shmykov was elected mayor by deputies of the City Duma. He was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of the Sverdlovsk region, a commemorative medal of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations "Marshal Vasily Chuikov".
