Since 1990, he has been an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology, WASEDA University.,

Since 1991, he has been an associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Hokkaido University.,

Since 1995, he has been an associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Hokkaido University.,

Currently, Professor Setoguchi is engaged in designing urban facilities affected by strong wind and snow loads and conducts seminars for Japanese and Russian specialists within the framework of Japanese-Russian projects of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.
