Sergei Madatyan

Position:Head of the Valve Laboratory
Employer:A.A.Gvozdev National Research Institute of Applied Sciences, JSC SIC Stroitelstvo
Country:Russia

Background

In 1956 he graduated from the Kuibyshev Moscow Civil Engineering Institute, Faculty of Industrial Transport.

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

After graduation, he worked at BTP TSNIIPS and NIOMTP, was engaged in the development and research of prestressing technology for rod and wire fittings. He discovered and proved the positive effect of contact electric heating on the mechanical properties of hot-rolled bar fittings, which contributed to the widespread use of this technology in the USSR.

Since 1961, he worked at the Laboratory of Reinforced Concrete Theory of the National Research Institute of Economics, first as a researcher, and then, after the formation of the Reinforcement Laboratory, as head. Since 1985, he has been the head of this laboratory.

In 1962, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: "Investigation of the properties of bar reinforcement of reinforced concrete structures and the peculiarities of its tension by electrothermal method".

In 1981 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "The effect of prestressing on the properties of high-strength core reinforcing steel and the bearing capacity of bent reinforced concrete elements.

Since 1987, he has been a professor specializing in building structures.

Participant in the creation and co-author of the technology of thermomechanical hardening of reinforcing steel. This technology is accepted as the main one in all countries of Europe and most countries of the world.

246 works have been published, including 41 inventions and patents, 10 GOST standards and standards.

He holds the title of Honored Builder of Russia and the title of laureate of the Award of the Government of the Russian Federation. 1998 in the field of science and technology.
