Background

Graduated from Vyatka State University with a Ph.D. in Forestry and Forest Products, Polytechnic University of Virginia.

Dr. Salenikovich teaches the design of wooden structures, the mechanical properties of wood and test methods. His research interests focus on the design of multi-storey wooden buildings in high winds and seismic conditions, wooden joints including structural screws and glued rods, and the development of test procedures. Together with his students and staff, he has written more than 120 journal articles and given numerous conference presentations; he edited the Proceedings of the 2014 World Conference on Forest Engineering.

Professor Salenikovich is Chairman of ASTM International's D7 International Committee on Wood Construction, Chairman of the Canadian Mirror Committee ISO/TC 218 on Wood and member of CMC/ISO/TC 165 on Wood Structures, Chairman of the Communications Subcommittee and Executive Member of CSA A257 TC on Engineering Design in Wood and member of CSA A370 TC on Solid and Wooden Products., executive member of the ANSI/APA PRG 320 CLT Standardization Committee and member of the Order of Quebec Engineers.
