Background

He has been working at IZK since 1963.

He defended his PhD thesis in 1972 and his doctoral thesis in 1997.  There are 403 works in total, 44 in the last 5 years.

In 1997-2006, he was the head of the Seismogeology Laboratory, and since 2006, he has been the Chief Researcher.

He has 3 main areas of scientific research in collaboration with colleagues:

  1. study of geological and geophysical conditions of earthquake preparation in faults and occurrence of seismic activity for the purpose of medium-term earthquake forecasting in the Baikal region;
  2. development of methods of man-made impacts on fault segments to ensure seismic safety. There are 4 patents of the Russian Federation in co-authorship on this topic.
  3. application of the obtained results in collective work for seismic hazard assessments in the Baikal region.
