Kirsten Ritchie has more than 30 years of experience in the field of environmental construction and urban infrastructure. Richie's focus is always on ways to make the construction industry healthier, more attractive, and more environmentally friendly. Ritchie is a passionate advocate of scientific approaches to the assessment of environmental and human-oriented indicators. She has played a key role in the development of numerous building and construction assessment standards, as well as certification programs, including the USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), SCS Indoor Advantage, Floorscore, and BIFMA, which have led to fundamental changes in the construction and interior industry.. She is also actively involved in the development and implementation of programs at the organizational level, specializing in improving user experience and sustainable productivity at the level of campuses and international development projects.
Richie's past and present clients include companies such as Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Fairmont Resorts, Google, Lockheed, Oracle, Salesforce, San Francisco International Airport, and the University of California, San Francisco.
Ms. Ritchie is a licensed professional engineer and a LEED AP O+ M expert. As Director of the Ecological Building Network, she is on the Board of the Green Electronics Council, and is a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Materials and Resources of the U.S. Green Building Council (MR-TAG of the U.S. Green Building Council).
