
Alfonso Ponce-Alvarez
Background
Alfonso Ponce-Alvarez was born in Mexico in 1978. He joined the French Construction Research Center (CSTB) in 2005 and represented France on the Board of Directors of the United Nations Environment Programme under the Sustainable Construction and Climate Change Initiative (UNEP-SBCI).
Alfonso also served as Secretary General of the Alliance for Sustainable Construction (SB Alliance) during his time at CSTB. In 2010, Alfonso began his career at Deloitte Real Estate in France and became the head of Deloitte's global community of sustainability and real estate specialists. Subsequently, he took up the position of Director of Corporate Solutions at Jones Lang Lasalle in London.
Today, Alfonso is a senior partner at Foster+ Partners and co-head of the Sustainability group, which offers a wide range of design transformation skills to Foster+Partners at the urban and building levels. Alfonso is a member of RICS, LEED AP BD+C and ND, as well as a licensed BREEAM International Expert.
