He defended his PhD thesis in 1994 and his doctoral thesis in 2005.

He is the author of 65 scientific educational and methodological works, including two monographs on the study of vibrations of flat structural elements, 10 textbooks, 32 articles, 5 patents, 3 KNOW-HOW and 21 reports at various conferences. He has trained 3 graduate students.

In 2007 O.O. Egorychev was awarded the title of "Honorary Builder of Russia", since 2008 he has been an adviser to the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences. In 2009, O.O. Egorychev was awarded the honorary badge "Construction Glory" and the Gratitude of the Mayor of Moscow. The winner of the Moscow competition "Manager of the Year – 2009".

The field of professional activity is the tasks of structural mechanics, mechanics of modern structures and structures and other scientific and technical branches, aerodynamics of building structures.
