Background

Internationally renowned researcher Carlos Moreno is an associate professor at Paris Pantheon Sorbonne University in France, as well as co-founder and supervisor of the Entrepreneurship, Territory, Innovation (ETI) program. He specializes in the study of complex urban systems and the development of innovative processes.

He was recognized as a scientist with an innovative mind and his unique approach to urban issues.  Professor Moreno is working on the concept of a "Human Smart City", an ongoing project initiated by him. He is also known as a scientific adviser to national and international leaders at the highest level, including the Mayor of Paris, Ms. Anne Hidalgo, as a special envoy on Smart cities.

Dedicated to the cause of science, progress and creation, Carlos Moreno strives to unite various scientific disciplines and unite professionals in a single innovation ecosystem that includes a wide variety of fields ― from the industrial sector to startups. The emphasis here is on an interdisciplinary approach.  In addition, it promotes the popularization of science and technology, as well as their application in urban planning.

In 2010, Carlos was awarded the title of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in Paris.
