Background
In 1987, he defended his dissertation and received the degree of Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences.
He was a researcher and associate professor at the Russian Vocational Pedagogical University, and then defended his doctoral thesis (Doctor of Geographical Sciences).
From 2005 to 208, he was the head of the department at the Ural State University of Railway Communications.
Currently, he is the head of the sector of productive forces allocation and territorial planning, a leading researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2009).
