
Pavel Krutolapov
Background
In 2008, he graduated from South Ural State University with a degree in Architecture.
He combined his studies with work at the Prisma design bureau. In 2009, he became the founder and chief architect at Architectural Workshop No. 24. Since 2015, he has worked as a managing partner of the ESCHER architectural company. He has received many awards and accolades, including for the design of the Mikar office center and the Meliot Hotel. In 2016, ESCHER company took the third place in the international architectural competition Archchel-2020 in the nomination "Airport".
In 2018, he took 1st place in the open international competition for architectural concepts of standard housing and residential buildings in the nomination "Medium-rise residential model". Based on the results of this competition, the Russian Ministry of Construction has developed standards for the integrated development of the territory.
In 2020, he was appointed to the municipal position of Head of the Department for Architectural and Urban Planning of the city of Chelyabinsk, chief architect. In his post, he gave a new impetus to an integrated approach to the development and improvement of urban areas. He developed a landscaping project for Chelyabinsk — an embankment along the Megalopolis in the Central District, which was noted by the professional community of architects in Russia. In 2021, under his leadership, the new General Plan of the city of Chelyabinsk until 2041 was approved, which laid down the main principles of spatial development. He created and oversees the Chelyabinsk Urban Environment Development Center.
