Viktor V. Kostarev, Candidate of Technical Sciences
Viktor V. Kostarev was born on May 19, 1945. In 1968, he graduated from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (Russia) with a degree in "mechanical engineering". In 1979, he received his PhD in Engineering with a thesis on self-oscillation of high-speed rotors of powerful supercritical steam turbines.
V. Kostarev has more than 50 years of professional experience in the field of analysis, qualification and design of structures, systems and equipment exposed to operational and seismic loads, as well as loads during design accidents at nuclear and conventional energy facilities and industrial enterprises.
Since 1992, he has been the president and head of the company "CCTI-Vibroseism" (CVS), an engineering consulting firm specializing in the design of structures and mechanical systems, whose head office is located in St. Petersburg (Russia).
V. Kostarev has been an expert at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since 1993, a member of the IASMiRT Advisory Board, a member of the ISO working group on seismic insulation, and a member of the technical committee of the Russian Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) in the nuclear industry.
During his career, Dr. Kostarev has authored more than 200 technical publications and developed a number of engineering solutions that have been widely used in nuclear and conventional energy, as well as in other industries around the world.
