Background

Paul Kirkels studied architecture at the Technical University of Eindhoven, graduating in 2006.

In 2004, Paul Kirkels began working as an intern at JSA (Jeroen Schipper Architect), which has now merged with Orange Architects. His graduation project for the reconstruction of the Rotterdam city center was positively received by the city administration, as well as published in many media outlets.

After graduation, Paul continued to work at JSA, becoming the head of several large-scale housing projects in the Netherlands. In 2013 and 2014. Paul has successfully participated in architectural and urban planning competitions in China and Italy in collaboration with Nauta Architecture. & He studied and gained extensive work experience in such well-known architectural firms as KCAP and Broekbakema.

In 2017, Paul returned to Orange Architects as a sustainable technology specialist and began working on the Jonas competition project, an ambitious project that won two BREEM Awards this year.
