
Matti Kayansinko
Background
Architect, graduated from the Technical University of Helsinki and the University of Washington in Seattle. He is the project manager for the design of the Western Port for the city of Helsinki.
Since 2001, he has worked in the Helsinki City Planning Department. The main projects were the general plans of the cities of Jätkäsaari (2006) and Hernesaari (2018).
Prior to that, Matti Kayansinko worked as an architect in various Finnish companies. In 1998, he founded his own studio and worked on projects such as the Center for Information and Electricity at the Lappeenranta University of Technology (2000).
Matti Kayansinko has won a number of architectural competitions and has repeatedly exhibited his work at the Finnish Museum of Architecture, as well as at foreign exhibitions. He was awarded the Reima Pietila Prize in 1998.
He taught at the Technical University of Helsinki (now Aalto University) in 1999 – 2011.
