Background

Kalinin Vasily Vasilyevich has been working in the oil industry for more than 30 years. He began his career in 1982, as an engineer at Nizhnevolzhskneft, after graduating from the Volgograd Polytechnic Institute.

In 1983-1986, he completed his studies and successfully defended his PhD thesis.

In 1997, Kalinin was awarded the title of "Honorary Oilman".

In the early 90s, Kalinin also took an active part in the organization and establishment of one of the first Russian-German joint ventures in the Russian oil industry, the Volgodeminoil joint venture.

V.V. Kalinin's main achievement as CEO of VolgograGNIPineft was the Institute's "access to the Caspian shelf" - the conclusion of a long-term contract with OAO NK LUKOIL in 1999.

In September 2000, Volgogradnipineft Institute became a part of OAO NK LUKOIL.

In December 2000, V.V. Kalinin left the post of CEO and, with a group of like-minded people, created a new institute, Volgogradnipineft LLC (since 2007 Volgogradnipineft CJSC). In 2006, the construction department was separated into an independent design institute, Volgogradnefteproekt LLC, of which V.V. Kalinin is also one of the founders.

For his achievements in his work, he was repeatedly rewarded, awarded for the international assessment of oil and gas reserves, and received a state monetary reward for the discovery and exploration of the Pamyatno-Sasovskoye field. V.V. Kalinin is the author of more than 50 scientific papers published in Russia and abroad.
