Background

Leo Hollis was born in London in 1972, educated at Stonyhurst College, and then studied history at the University of East Anglia.

He is the author of three books on history, urbanism and the future of cities. The books Phoenix: The People Who Created Modern London and The Stones of London: A Story in Twelve Buildings tell the story of London. The book "Cities for your benefit: the Genius of the Metropolis", published in the UK, USA and Russia, has become an international bestseller.

Leo Hollis regularly talks about cities, technology, and design around the world, including two TED talks, and is regularly featured in the British media.
