
Felipe Faria
Background
At the beginning of his career, Felipe Faria worked as a lawyer and served as a negotiator in the civil court in Barueri, São Paulo.
Since 2007, he has been leading the Brazilian Green Building Council, the transformation of Brazil's construction industry into a global leader in sustainable construction technologies.
From 2012 to 2016, he served on the Steering Committee of LEED, USGBC.
From 2017 to 2023, Felipe served as President of the Management Committee and the CEO Engagement Committee at the World Green Building Council.
Felipe has influenced large-scale projects, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
In addition, he has devoted 17 years to promoting eco-friendly construction as a sustainable and profitable business model in Brazil. Brazil is currently among the TOP 5 largest markets for international building certifications such as LEED, based on a ranking of 186 countries.
Felipe served as Chairman of the Americas Regional Network in 2016; was a member of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Sustainability Committee, where he worked on green building certification for 10 of the 12 World Cup stadiums.
