Background
After graduating from the Institute in 1971, he was enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Department of Water Management and Water Technology of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. In 1974, he defended his PhD thesis and began working at the department as an assistant. In 1980, he was awarded the title of associate professor. In 1999, he defended his doctoral thesis and was elected by competition and is currently the head of the Department of Water Management and Water Technology. In 2003, he was awarded the academic title of professor at the Department of the Higher School of Economics.
