Andras Dobos
Background
András Dobos was born and raised in Hungary, and studied architecture in Hungary and Spain.
He began his professional career at Zoboki Demeter Design Associates, working on projects for public buildings such as the Palace of Arts, the Budapest Philharmonic Hall and the new Richter headquarters building.
Then Andras Dobos worked in Moscow on projects throughout Russia, including in Kazan, Surgut and the capital itself, participated in various projects: from the restoration of the territory of the Krasny Oktyabr plant to the National Library of Tatarstan.
In 2007, together with Linda Erdely, Balashu Koreni and Virugu Gasparu Anna, they founded the architectural bureau LAB5 architects. The company strives to create innovative and sometimes experimental projects in the fields of architecture, urbanism, product design and interior design.
Their motto is to work "on both sides of the wall" and stands out for their interdisciplinary approach to creating solutions in the space. They do not focus on the issues of architecture in functional, technological or artistic terms. Their buildings are always integrated into a broader environment, including green and artificial elements, historical and futuristic context. They also call themselves "healers" of buildings. Preserving and reusing existing homes not only reduces the ecological footprint, but also provides food for interesting philosophical discussions.
