Background

Christos Passas received his professional education at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in Brooklyn (USA). He is a graduate of the Architectural Association in London. Since 1998, he has been collaborating with the architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects.

He started his career as a senior designer, then became a project director. One of the most famous projects of Zaha Hadid Architects is the Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg (Germany), completed in 2005. This project was named by the media as one of the 50 best buildings of the 20th century, and many describe it as a transformation of the structure of the future vision, which received the prestigious RIBA European Award in 2006.

Christos Passas led the project of Dominion Tower Business Center, the first building of Zaha Hadid in Moscow. His works also include the design of 33-35 Hoxton Square in London (UK), the design of the Beko Masterplan multipurpose complex in Belgrade (Serbia), the design of the Opus Tower in Dubai and Eleftheria Square in Nicosia (Cyprus).

Together with Zaha Hadid, the architect participated in the projects of the Lois Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati (USA), the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the MAXXI Museum in Rome (Italy).

Currently, Christos Passas teaches parametric design and urban planning at the Architectural Association in London together with Patrick Schumacher in London and conducts master classes at DIA (Germany). He often participates in university competitions as a jury throughout the UK and Europe.

Recently, Christos has been leading winning projects for the Sberbank Technopark in Skolkovo, the Admiral Serebryakov Master Plan in Novorossiysk and the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic in Yekaterinburg.
