Professor Boswell is currently a Professor of Civil Engineering at City University of London.

In 1985, he founded the Center for Oceanic Engineering Research. From 1991 to 1998, he worked as the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at City University.

Over the past forty years, Professor Boswell has been engaged in theoretical, experimental and numerical research. He has published more than 100 papers, books and articles in the field of civil engineering structures.

Professor Boswell is currently the Chairman of the European Association for the Training of Construction Personnel of the European Union (EUCEET).

City University of London is an institution of higher education within the University College of London. It was established more than 100 years ago as the Northampton Institute, and was officially known as City University until it became part of the University of London in 2016.
