Background

Born on May 8, 1950 in Nizhny Tagil.

In 1972, Arkady Chernetsky graduated from the Ural Polytechnic Institute named after S.M. Kirov with a degree in metallurgical engineering. Candidate of Economic Sciences.

In 1974-1987, he worked in various positions (the last one was Deputy Director of Production) at the Uraltransmash plant.

From 1987 to 1992, he was the General Director of the Himmash plant.
On January 30, 1992, he was appointed head of the Yekaterinburg City Administration.

Since 1994, he has been a deputy of the Sverdlovsk Regional Duma.

Since December 21, 1995, he has been the mayor of Yekaterinburg (he received 70% of the votes in the elections). He was re-elected mayor in 1999, 2003 and 2008.

In 1996-2004, he was a deputy of the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region.

On October 27, 2010, at the plenary session of the Federation Council, the powers of Arkady Chernetsky, representative of the legislative body of state power of the Sverdlovsk region, in the chamber of the Russian Parliament were confirmed.

Since October 2021, Arkady Mikhailovich Chernetsky has been elected to the post of first Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region.
Arkady Mikhailovich has been Vice President of NOSTRA since November 2021.

Awards and titles:

  • Honorary citizen of the city of Yekaterinburg.
  • Honorary title "Honored Machine Builder of the Russian Federation"; Order of Honor;
  • Order of the Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow, III degree;
  • Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, III degree.
