
Alexander Antonov
Background
He graduated from MARCHI in 1991 with a degree in architecture and urban planning.
He worked at the Central Research Institute of Urban Planning, the Moscow Giprogor, and since 1999 at the State Unitary Enterprise MO NIiPI of Urban Planning. He participated in the development of the TCS of the Perm Territory, Tver, Samara, and Kaluga regions, general plans for more than 50 cities, rural settlements, the urban cadastre of the Khanty–Mansi Autonomous Okrug and the Moscow Region, and the spatial development strategy of the Yaroslavl Region and Ufa.
One of the leading developers of the STP in the Moscow region. At Strelka Design Bureau, he participated in work on the historical cities of the Moscow Region, the study of New Moscow, and the development of landscaping standards.
In 1994, he was one of the initiators of the creation of the Russian GIS Association.
From 1994 to 2001, he published the GIS-Review magazine.
In 1997-2001, he was the organizer of the URBIS conference.
In 2010, he was one of the co-founders of the NP "Association of Planners".
Since 2009, he has been a member of the International Society of Urban and Regional Planners ISOCARP.
