
Anatoliy Sashurin
Background
1971 – defended his PhD thesis "Research on improving stress measurement methods in strong rocks", specializing in surveying. 1995 – defended his doctoral thesis "Geomechanical models and methods for calculating rock movements during the development of deposits in rocky massifs" in the specialties "Rock mechanics" and "Surveying".
Sashurin A.D. joined the Institute of Mining in 1960 and is still working at the present time. Over the years, he held all scientific positions from laboratory assistant to director of the Institute in the period from 08.1992 to 04.1995. From 05/04/1995 to 2008 - Head of the Laboratory of rock displacement and Prevention of man-made disasters. In 2008, after the reorganization of the Institute's structure, the laboratory was transformed into the Department of Geomechanics. Today, A.D. Sashurin heads the Geomechanics department, which includes four laboratories.
