
Massimo Alvisi
Background
Massimo Alvisi was born in Barletta in 1967 and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Florence with honors in 1994, having defended his international thesis in collaboration with École d'Architecture de La Villette. During his university studies, he received an annual scholarship to Darmstadt, Germany, where he studied environmental sustainability with Thomas Herzog.
Massimo Alvisi worked at Renzo Piano Building Workshop as a design architect from 1995 to 2002 before completing the project of the Parco della Musica Concert Hall in Rome.
In 2002, together with Junko Kirimoto, he founded the Alvisi Kirimoto bureau in Rome.
Massimo Alvisi is engaged in architectural planning, paying special attention to the urban and social spheres. He was a technical consultant for Casa Italia and a teacher of the G124 project dedicated to "restoring the periphery of the city."
Massimo Alvisi taught a course in urban studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University. Roma Tor Vergata (2014-2016), as well as the course "Architecture of Regeneration" at the University of Bologna (2018). He has conducted seminars, master classes and lectures around the world, including "Developing the Periphery of the City" at the Royal Academy of Arts in London (2018).
