
Melike Altynyshik
Background
Melike holds a Master's degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory (AADRL, 2006) in London and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University (ITU, 2003) with honors.
Melike Altynyshik is an award–winning architect, designer and educator who develops an innovative approach to architecture, urbanism and design. Her work is aimed at developing a relational approach to architecture in connection with new design technologies.
Since 2004, she has gained significant international professional architectural experience, working on significant projects of various scales: from high-rise buildings, master plans, cultural centers and museums to custom furniture design. Her design work has received a number of prestigious awards, including "Europe 40 under 40", "FEIDAD Design Award 07" and "Swiss Art Award".
Melike has also participated in various national and international architectural competitions, exhibitions, and publications. Many of her works, such as the high-rise television tower "Istanbul TV and Radio Tower" (Istanbul, Turkey) and the building of the robot museum "Robot Science Musuem" (Seoul, South Korea) have been awarded prestigious awards.
Before starting her own business in Istanbul, Melike worked in London as a lead architect at Zaha Hadid Architects (2006-2013).
