In 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. In 1983, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences at the National Research Institute of Physics and Technology on the topic "The influence of lighting characteristics of sun protection devices on visual performance in precision manufacturing." In 1986, he was awarded the title of "Senior Researcher".
From 1975 to 1978, he was a senior engineer at the Research Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the All-Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Then, until 1991, he was a junior and senior researcher, as well as Deputy Director for Science at the Research Institute of Building Physics.
For three years he held the position of Director of Development of the joint venture "Dinaelectronics". After that, he became the scientific director of Russian Window Manufactory LLC.
From 1997 to 2010, he was the First Vice President and President of the Association of Manufacturers of Energy–efficient Windows (APROK Association).
For the next 9 years, he has been the chief researcher and head of the laboratory "Energy-saving Technologies in Construction".
Under the supervision of A.V. Spiridonov, he defended three dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences.
A.V. Spiridonov is the author of more than 525 publications, including 90 copyright certificates and patents.
