Alireza Taghaboni
Background
Born in 1977 in Tehran, Alireza Taghaboni is an Iranian architect, university professor, and the Dean of the Contemporary Architects Association. He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture.
Taghaboni is the founder and CEO of Next Office, a position he has held since 2004. He is the author of the books “Mamas Ba Asar” and “Duals,”, and has written numerous specialized articles for both domestic and international journals and magazines.
Taghaboni has won multiple national and international architecture awards, including:
- Four first-place awards at the Grand Memar Award;
- First place at the annual Dorfman Architecture Prize from the Royal Academy of London (2018);
- Seven first-place awards at the World Architecture Festival (WAF).
He has served as a judge in various international competitions, including the annual Dorfman Architecture Prize in London (2019) and the World Architecture Festival (WAF) (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023). He was also a member of the jury for the Grand Memar Award in 2011 and 2016, as well as for many other prestigious domestic and international competitions.
Taghaboni has been a keynote speaker at numerous international architectural conferences and specialized meetings, including “Share Architects”.
