For the first time, the atlas presents systematically and comprehensively the industrial heritage of Yekaterinburg and the historically interconnected nearby territories and settlements — Berezovsky, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sredneuralsk, Aramili, Degtyarsk, Sysert, Pervouralsk, Revda, Polevsky and Bilimbai — from the time of its inception to the present day. Industrial heritage is considered in the context of national and regional identity, actualization of its value, and research directions in world and national historiography. The publication is provided with appendices: a short glossary of terms and concepts related to the industrial heritage; selected bibliography on the subject of world, Russian and regional industrial heritage; indexes of personalities, geographical objects, enterprises and organizations. The atlas is intended for residents and guests of Greater Yekaterinburg, representatives of regional and municipal authorities, and researchers. It can be useful in the educational process, tourism activities, and is a tribute of respect and gratitude to many generations of our predecessors who created industry as the basis for the development of the industrial era and studied it.
