Comfort criteria evolve along with the transformations of architectural and urban planning thought, as well as discoveries about how the environment affects a person. Building codes and regulations that ensure safety and quality have been in place since ancient times. Only in recent decades have standards and certification systems been designed to provide a "resilient" environment for citizens and become a guiding light for designers and developers.
On November 1, the national standard for the "green" construction of multi-family residential buildings (GOST R) begins to operate in the Russian Federation. GOST R was developed by the Ministry of Construction of Russia together with DOM.Russia, taking into account the experience of the leading international systems LEED, BREEAM, DGNB.
At the session, experts will discuss the importance of international and new Russian systems, their criteria, prospects for use in development practice, as well as the impact on the development of territories already at the design stage.
- How have the practices of territory design changed under the influence of building certification systems?
- To what extent will the emergence of a standard for apartment buildings help implement the principles of Urban Health in creating a modern urban environment?
- How can we not lose the individual approach and comfort for everyone in the pursuit of certification?
- Will the existence of such assessment systems help to create truly sustainable and resilient cities?
