High-rise buildings will be built according to new standards

At the initiative of the Association for the Development of Steel Construction (ARCC) in 2016, a set of rules "Steel-reinforced concrete structures. Design rules". The draft regulatory document has passed the stage of public discussions and has been submitted for examination by the technical committee TC 465 "Construction". Also this year, a member of the Association, the Institute of the V.A.Kucherenko Central Research Institute of JSC SIC Stroitelstvo, is reviewing the code of rules SP 16 "Steel Structures". The previous version of the document has been revised by more than a third.

The provisions of these sets of rules, which establish requirements for the development of constructive solutions, have been updated taking into account the vast experience of the Association's members, including during the construction, reconstruction, surveys and monitoring of unique facilities throughout the Russian Federation.

Speaking about the improvement of the regulatory framework in the field of construction in the Russian Federation, it is also necessary to take into account the developed draft code of rules "High-rise buildings and complexes. Design rules". The document sets out the requirements for most sections of the design documentation of high-rise buildings, including spatial planning and structural solutions, engineering and technical support systems for the facility. In addition to the requirements for the development of design documentation for traditional structural solutions, this set of rules also contains requirements for the design of modern steel-reinforced concrete structural systems of high-rise buildings, which emphasizes the high modern technical level of the proposed draft document.

The second edition of the joint venture is currently under consideration by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation, however, ARCC experts predict that the set of rules will be approved and will officially enter into force by the end of 2016.

On October 5, 2016, ARCC together with JSC SIC Stroitelstvo will hold a special business session "Steel structures in unique facilities. Technical solutions and regulatory framework" within the framework of the third annual high-rise construction forum 100+ Forum Russia in Yekaterinburg. The session will consider the results of public discussions of the developed joint ventures and the issues of updating the regulatory framework in accordance with the current needs of the industry.

The Association for the Development of Steel Construction (ARCC) unites all participants in the steel construction market: leading manufacturers and suppliers of rolled metal products, factories for the production of metal structures, research and design institutes, architectural bureaus, educational institutions.

The main goal of the Association is to expand the use of metal structures in all types of civil and industrial construction. The Association sees the consolidation of a community of qualified market participants, whose work will focus on four main areas, as the main way to achieve its goals.:

1. The Engineering Center provides design expertise on the use of rolled steel in the construction of facilities for various purposes using advanced Russian and foreign experience, creates a database of constructed facilities with effective use of rolled steel;

2. The Regulatory and Technical Center is improving the existing regulatory framework for the production of rolled products and steel structures, design and construction;

3. The Scientific and Educational Center analyzes the industry and creates recommendations on design, implements professional development programs for architects and designers.;

4. The Media Center talks about the advantages of steel construction among investors, developers, and government authorities, holds round tables with ARCC experts, scientific and practical conferences, and provides participation in specialized exhibitions.

Membership in the Association allows companies to develop their business by receiving constant consulting support on the design and application of steel structures, assistance in dialogue with regulatory authorities, and also provides an opportunity to participate in the Association's events and projects.
