The webinar for construction workers "Lessons from the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey and Syria" will be held on April 6.

On April 6, at 12:00 (Moscow time), 100+ TechnoBuild and the Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Construction of Russia will hold a webinar "Lessons from the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey and Syria: an analysis of the causes of destruction; directions for improving building regulations and urban planning in seismic zones."

Speakers:

1. Rustam Akbiev, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Integrated Urban Planning Security of the FSBI "TSNIIP of the Ministry of Construction of Russia", Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian SEISMO Association. The topic is "Causes and consequences of catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria";
2. Viktor Kostarev, Ph.D., Director of TSKTI-Vibroseism LLC. Topic – "Generalization of the experience of behavior of seismically insulated buildings in severe earthquakes";
3. Evgeny Kurbatsky, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Bridges and Tunnels of the Russian Institute of Physics and Technology (MIIT). The topic is "Standards of earthquake–resistant construction in the Syrian Arab Republic."

In particular, the participants will talk about the main shortcomings of the rules for the design, construction and operation of facilities in Turkey and Syria, and will conduct a comparative analysis with the norms of Russia and the CIS countries. The results of research on the behavior of buildings with seismic insulation will also be presented, suggestions and recommendations for improving the safety of facilities and cities will be formed.
