It will be "Not Dark" on the longest winter night in Yekaterinburg
A unique New Year's gift awaits the townspeople: the architectural illumination is cooler than in Europe. On December 20, at 18:00, one of the city's tall buildings will sparkle with hundreds of colorful lights.
The tradition of festively decorating architectural objects with lighting has existed in world practice for a long time. This is how the tallest and most famous buildings in major capitals are decorated for New Year and Christmas: New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo… The creators of the Yekaterinburg illumination decided to repeat the world experience and implement this bold project in their hometown as part of the Not Dark festival.
The new ultra-modern Repin Park residential complex, a 26-storey four-section building, was chosen as the place of implementation. The infrastructure of this particular facility makes it possible to successfully demonstrate the play of light and shadow, the radiance of multicolored lights. The author of the architectural lighting of a residential building is STK MT ELECTRO LLC, a participant in the 100+ Forum Russia 2015 and one of the organizers of the Not Dark festival in Yekaterinburg. "Our lighting features all kinds of shades of blue, fuchsia, red and lots of pink, multicolored colors for the whole family," the organizers said.
A technically unique architectural illumination, similar to those used in the largest cities of the world, will be presented in the city for the first time. It should be noted that the LED panels will not be placed on a historic or employee-free office building, as is the case in New York or Paris. Yekaterinburg New Year's illumination will decorate a real residential building, which will make this case completely unprecedented.
Residents of the city will be able to see everything with their own eyes. The organizers invite you to visit the Repin Park residential complex on December 20 at 18:00. The backlight starts every 20 minutes.
It should be recalled that the topic "Architectural lighting of high-rise and unique objects" was included in the business program of the forum in 2015 and aroused great interest among specialists.
