19 new skyscrapers to be built in Yekaterinburg

For 7 months of 2014, the Yekaterinburg City Administration issued permits for the construction of 19 high-rise residential buildings with a height of 25 floors. Their total area of apartments is 376,000 sq. m.

The year of commissioning of high-rise buildings for Yekaterinburg is 2005. From that date to the present, 60 high-rise buildings from 75 meters have been commissioned in the city. Their total area is 927,037 square meters. The largest commissioning of high–rise buildings was recorded in 2010, when 11 buildings above 25 floors were put into operation in the Ural capital at once.

"We are currently actively preparing for the construction of the tallest residential skyscraper in Russia outside the MKAD, the First Nikolaevsky residential complex. The project provides for the construction of two 61-storey buildings with a height of more than 200 meters. No one in Russia has such experience in high-rise housing construction as Yekaterinburg, except Moscow," said Sergey Myamin, Deputy Head of the Yekaterinburg City Administration for Capital Construction and Land Use.

It is not surprising that Yekaterinburg will host the 100+ Forum Russia 2014, an international forum dedicated to the design, construction, financing and operation of high–rise buildings, on September 24-26.
