In 2019, the 100+ Forum Russia will talk about the cities of the future

Yekaterinburg hosted the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the VI International Forum and Exhibition of Unique Construction 100+ Forum Russia, which will be held on October 2-4, 2019.

Arkady Chernetsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 100+ Forum Russia, positively characterized the results of the 2018 forum, noting that the quality of the event had significantly improved. The senator highly appreciated the participation of the Russian Ministry of Construction, as Vladimir Yakushev, Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation, attended the fifth forum for the first time last December. According to the Organizing Committee, the personal participation of the Federal Minister will make it possible to attract more regions and countries to participate in one of the largest Russian construction forums. According to the decision of the Organizing Committee, an offer will be sent to V.V. Yakushev to head the Organizing Committee in 2019.

The main theme of the 100+ Forum Russia will be "The City of the Future". The organizers will offer the construction community a discussion platform to discuss what the city of the future should look like and whether we are ready to build it. Whether these will be digital cities for pedestrians without carbon emissions into the atmosphere, green and comfortable, construction will go up or, perhaps, cities will become underground or even underwater.

The business program will be based on sections on design (20%), architecture (20%) and construction (20%), as well as production (10%), legislation (10%), marketing (10%), and a comfortable urban environment (10%).

The meeting participants suggested taking into account the industrial potential of the region and the experience of building cultural facilities when drawing up the program. 2019 has been declared the Year of Theater in Russia, and the Sverdlovsk Region can become a good example of modern construction – this is the project of the new Philharmonic hall, developed by Zaha Hadid Architects, and the construction of the theater in Verkhnyaya Pyshma and the construction of the Hermitage-Ural cultural and educational center in Yekaterinburg.

Conducting technical tours for the participants of the 100+ Forum Russia will be traditional. Arkady Chernetsky emphasized that the city has unique opportunities to show construction sites of various complexity and purposes: high-rise, sports, and examples of integrated development of territories, public spaces, and much more.

A new venue has been chosen for the 100+ Forum Russia – the Convention Center of the International Exhibition Center "Yekaterinburg-EXPO". The construction of this multifunctional complex for large-scale international events is currently being completed. With this in mind, a new concept for the forum's exhibition will be proposed.

​Sergey Schwindt, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, and Alexey Biryulin, Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg, stressed that the 100+ Forum Russia 2019 will be held with the support of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Yekaterinburg City Administration.
