The Ural company told how it creates "smart" illumination for cities with millions

During the VII International Forum and the TechnoBuild 100+ Exhibition in 2020, an illumination scenario created specifically for the event was included in the center of Yekaterinburg. Thematic content was demonstrated using garlands in the form of cones on Lenin and Sverdlov Avenues. The developer of the structures and the author of the concept is the Ural company STK MT Electro.

"SMART ILLUMINATION's light-dynamic designs have no analogues. They are installed on existing lanterns, without disturbing the aesthetics during the daytime, " said STK MT Electro. –Modern illumination control technologies allow you to reduce the time needed to prepare for any holiday and event due to the possibility of changing the scenario. Yekaterinburg has already developed more than 20 individual holiday lighting modes: during the New Year holidays, by February 23, Victory Day, etc. Yekaterinburg also supported the international educational campaign "Light it Blue", International Patient Safety Day, and called on citizens to take care of themselves and their loved ones during the pandemic with the inscription "Better at Home".".

Each garland has a separate controller and a thermo-sim card, which allows you to change illumination scenarios from the operating organization's single server. The number of scenarios, speed, intensity, and color are achieved by remote control via mobile communication. 

The festive illumination is capable of operating at air temperatures from -40 °C to +60 °C. The structures themselves are equipped with LED light sources, which makes them energy efficient. 

Today, smart lighting can be found in three million-plus cities. There are 433 lighting structures installed in Yekaterinburg, with a total of 67,500 controlled light points. For Chelyabinsk, the company "STK MT Electro" has implemented 889 designs. In Perm, smart lighting was connected to Komsomolsky Prospekt - this is the beginning of a large–scale project to reconstruct urban lighting.

Smart illumination contributes to the formation of an individual appearance of the city, makes it more attractive and modern, creates a special mood in the communication of the city with residents and guests.
