Unique foundations

The Center for High-Rise and Unique Competencies in Construction took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Innovative technologies for the design and construction of foundations of high-rise buildings and structures."

Marat Sharafislamov, head of the Central Exhibition Center, told the participants about the activities of the Center, which has been operating in Yekaterinburg since the beginning of this year. He shared his competencies in laying foundations for high-rise and unique structures. Ural builders have two unusual foundations in their piggy bank: the Vysotsky skyscraper (189 m, 54 floors) and the Iset Tower (209 m, 52 floors). All the work on concreting non-standard foundations of skyscrapers, at least four times thicker than the usual foundations of residential buildings, with a volume of about 7 cubic meters and a total area of almost 3 thousand square meters, was carried out by local companies, including preliminary calculations and work projects. The experience of continuous filling of the foundation plate of a turbine unit at the 4th power unit of the Beloyarsk NPP (Zarechny, Sverdlovsk region) is no less unique. Concreting of the 52-meter base of a complex geometric shape lasted two days.

The International Foundation Builders Association held a conference on this topic for the first time. The organizers included in the program of the event reports on the specifics of design and construction, on the interaction of foundation structures of high-rise buildings with the foundations of the foundations. The participants got acquainted with the best domestic developments and practices in foundation construction. Innovative technologies for the construction of foundations of high-rise buildings were presented using the example of concreting the foundation of the Lakhta Center (Saint Petersburg, 462 m).

It is particularly worth noting that experts said that it is incorrect to design the foundations of high-rise buildings according to the standards for ordinary residential high-rise buildings. For massive concrete bases, it is necessary to take into account the specific features in the calculations. The country's leading research institutes already have many developments in this area.
