Specialists from one of the world's leading steel manufacturers POSCO will take part in the 100+ Forum Russia

Specialists from POSCO (South Korea), one of the world's three largest steel producers by market price, have begun preparations for a visit to Russia.

Together with a delegation of officials from the city of Pohang, where the holding's headquarters is located, they will take part in the main international event in the field of high-rise construction, the 100+ Forum Russia, which will be held on September 24-26, 2014 in Yekaterinburg.

In particular, the South Korean delegation will participate in three discussions.: on issues of transportation security in high-rise areas, the design of skyscrapers, as well as on the regulatory regulation of high-rise construction in Russia. The Urals is of interest to South Korea from the point of view of expanding the market for its products: steel structures are actively used in construction. In particular, POSCO E&C is known worldwide as the developer of such a large-scale project as the Songdo Intellectual City in South Korea. Its value is estimated at 35 billion US dollars.

Songdo creates the world's best design, architecture, construction and technology companies from scratch using the latest urban science. By 2016, over 400 buildings will be built there, including the tallest skyscraper in South Korea. All buildings will be literally packed with the most advanced technologies, the best engineering and construction solutions will be used in the project. The Songdo Business Center will be located in South Korea's tallest skyscraper (330 meters high). The building was named North East Asia Trade Tower (shopping center of Northeast Asia) and became one of the main attractions of the city.

Note that POSCO, the developer of the city of the future, is a Korean company that traces its history back to 1994. It is the third largest steel producer in the world, after companies from Luxembourg and China. For comparison, Severstal ranks 12th among Russian companies, EVRAZ – 15th, NLMK - 22nd (2010 data, WSA).
