Seventy sessions in three days
At the next meeting, the organizing committee of the III International Forum of high-rise and unique construction 100+ Forum Russia approved the business program of the event. The number of people willing to speak at the forum this year was higher than usual, so the organizers decided to increase the number of business sections. The forum program includes 70 thematic sessions - the most relevant, important, significant topics and reports in the field of construction.
Arkady Chernetsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the organizing committee of 100+ Forum Russia: "The Forum, which has already become traditional, is awaited by specialists working in the field of high-rise and unique construction, and the documents and initiatives that are being born here invariably attract attention both on the part of city administrations and in the professional environment."
This year, the 100+ Forum Russia program has been significantly expanded in several areas. These are bridge construction, large-span structures, underground construction, composite materials and urban planning. The report on the specifics of designing and modeling complex emergency impacts on bridge structures across the Kerch Strait will undoubtedly arouse the interest of professionals. A separate topic will be devoted to the experience of building and reconstructing Russian stadiums that will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup games.
The Union of Architects of Russia will hold a round table "Residential skyscraper. Living at a height" with a discussion of the social, architectural and technical aspects of the construction of residential high-rises. The Tunnel Association of Russia, participating in the forum for the first time, will organize professional discussions on the development of underground spaces and the rational use of urbanized territories. The issue of building a second metro line in Yekaterinburg will also be discussed here. A. Chernetsky noted the special importance of these topics and the need for their comprehensive coverage – both from an economic, urban planning, and administrative point of view.
In addition to the plenary session, traditional sessions, round tables and professional workshops, the results of the competition for the best concept for the development of the Yekaterinburg City quarter with a prize fund of 1 million rubles will be summed up during the forum. Internationally renowned architects Helmut Jan and Werner Zobek are invited to evaluate the competition works.
Sergey Schwindt, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region: "The Forum has become one of the landmark events in Yekaterinburg, and it occupies an important place in the calendar of city events. We are waiting for new ideas and proposals in the construction industry, and we are ready to listen to foreign experience." S. Schwindt added that it was decided to hold the forum in Yekaterinburg annually.
Alexey Belyshev, Deputy Head of the Yekaterinburg City Administration for Capital Construction and Land Use: "Preparations for the third forum are proceeding fruitfully. Of course, we are pleased with the expansion of geography and, more importantly, the deepening of scientifically based work from those basic institutions involved in the development of standards and qualifications."
The organizers noted that the participation of leading representatives of the world of architecture and construction puts the forum at a higher professional level, for example, for the first time, major companies such as Kurganstalmost, Shuko, Knight Frank, as well as Zaha Hadid Architects and Renzo Piano Building Workshop will take part in the forum.
