PRED GROUP will summarize the results of the competition for the development of a concept for the development of the historical center of Yekaterinburg

PRED GROUP has announced an open international architectural competition for the development of a building concept on the territory of the Ural Instrument Manufacturing Plant. It is located in the historical center of Yekaterinburg on the embankment in the block of streets: Postal Lane – Gorky Street – Pervomaiskaya Street – Pushkin Street. In particular, the customer intends to reconstruct the factory buildings.

It is noteworthy that the purpose of the future project should be proposed by the designer. And his name and, in fact, the concept of building the Ural Instrument–Making Plant will be announced by representatives of the PRED GROUP at the 100+ Forum Russia, an international skyscraper forum to be held on September 24-26, 2014 in Yekaterinburg.

Applications for participation in the competition were submitted by 19 companies. Among them are both Russian experts and representatives of Great Britain and France. So, among the contestants are Alef, Ardis-Project, Vorontsov Architect's Office, Gordeev-Demidov Architectural Bureau, Yekaterinburgorproekt, Architectural Studio R-4, Stroyproekt, and others. The jury included Mikhail Vyatkin, former chief architect of Yekaterinburg, Damir Safin, chief architect of the Uralzheldorproekt Institute, Gennady Chernykh, CEO of the PRED GROUP, Alexander Morozov, CEO of the Ural Instrument Manufacturing Plant, and others.

According to the terms of reference, the contestants must propose a reconstruction project for the buildings of the former instrument-making plant located at 17 Gorky St., Yekaterinburg, letters A, B, letters A1A2, letter C; a scheme of the general plan of the territory with the designation of landscaping elements, transport entrances and exits, taking into account the new function of the facility and architecture; a parking project and a proposal for decoration facades and roof solutions of the building on Pervomaiskaya St., 2 in the specified block.
