Pedestrian alley or ring road: which will the residents of Tolmachev Street choose?
Yekaterinburg residents, participants of the educational program "How to create new urban projects", will present their own city transformation projects at the INNOPROM-2016 exhibition.
The educational program "How to create new urban projects" is a joint project of the Guild of Builders of the Urals and the online school of urban entrepreneurs Vector. The project attracted active citizens to participate in the development of ideas for landscaping, creating a comfortable environment and implementing projects to improve public spaces. From May 20 to June 20, 27 Yekaterinburg residents took Vector online courses "How to explore the city in creative ways" and "How to create a new urban startup", and every week they explored the city with the curator of the project — journalist and cultural critic Alexander Tsarikov. As a result, the graduates have developed nine projects, five of which will be presented at INNOPROM, and some of the projects will be presented at the 100+ Forum Russia in October this year.
The places for studying and creating future projects before the start of the course were chosen by the experts of the Guild of Builders of the Urals. These are significant but in need of reconstruction areas of the urban environment: courtyards, pedestrian streets, schools, the embankment and the park.
"We were interested in the view of ordinary citizens of the surrounding area. The way they see Yekaterinburg and what they would like to offer to make it more beautiful and comfortable to live in. The results were bright and unusual," commented Vera Belous, Executive Director of the Guild of Builders of the Urals.
Among the projects that will be presented at INNOPROM, there are options
the construction of unusual public places such as the Ivanovskoye cemetery and the territory located under the Makarovsky Bridge. The project participants will tell you how Leonid Utesov's pipe can help to improve the park, in addition, they will offer an alternative use of the pedestrian section of Tolmachev Street.
The presentation of the projects will take place on July 12 from 16.30 to 18.00 at the stand of the Yekaterinburg City Administration.
